Course Hours: 40 (10 classes, 4 hours each or as arranged with instructor)

~Prerequisites: Command of the English language.

Course Outline:

Chinese medical diagnosis & Western medical diagnosis compared  (3 hours)

Assessment Techniques (10 hours)

Chinese pulse taking compared to Western pulses

Learning Basic paramedic assessment skills and interventions

Taking blood pressures and blood sugars

Auscultating the heart and lungs

Throat and ear exams

Other facial assessments

Stopping bleeding and starting CPR

Chinese Medical Modalities

Chinese herbal medicine basics (14 hours)

Cupping (2 hours)

Moxibustion (4 hours)

Summary of Tui Na (Chinese form of massage), Qi Gong (Chinese Yoga), Acupressure & acupuncture, plus Chinese Dietary Therapy (7 hours)

Putting everything together.

                                                               Total Books cost = $10.00

Successful completion of this course will allow the student to apply to the National Barefoot Doctors Association for Associate status.

Supplies: The student will provide all incidental supplies needed for this course (paper, pens, notebooks).
